The Saifee Marathon Organizing Committee manages the official photo-sharing platform for the Saifee Marathon event, hosted via Pixieset Media Inc., a Canadian company headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data in accordance with the Tanzania Personal Data Protection Act, 2022 (PDPA) and other applicable laws.

Photographs and videos captured during the Saifee Marathon event, which may include identifiable individuals such as participants, volunteers, or spectators.
Such images constitute personal data under the PDPA when individuals are recognizable.

When you access the Platform (hosted on Pixieset), we may automatically collect:
IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and operating system;
Pages viewed, download activity, and timestamps;
Cookies or similar technologies used by Pixieset to optimize website performance.

3. How We Use Your Information
We process personal data for the following lawful purposes:
Event documentation and promotion: Sharing images that capture the spirit and public nature of the Saifee Marathon;
Providing access to participants: Enabling participants to view and download event photos;

All processing is carried out fairly, lawfully, and transparently, in line with PDPA principles.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Under the PDPA, our lawful bases for processing include:
Legitimate interest: Publishing and sharing event images of public interest and community relevance;
Consent: Participants were informed during registration and participation that photography would occur;
Legal obligation: Compliance with Tanzanian data protection requirements.
5. Data Hosting and International Transfers
Our photo platform is hosted using Pixieset Media Inc., a company based in Canada.
Pixieset stores photos and related data on secure cloud servers, which may be physically located in Canada or in other global regions (such as the United States or Europe) to provide faster access based on user location.
By accessing this Platform, you understand that your personal data (including identifiable images) may be transferred and processed outside Tanzania, in jurisdictions that may not have the same level of data protection as Tanzania.
We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, including data protection agreements and technical security measures consistent with PDPA Section 44 on cross-border data transfers.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

Pixieset Media Inc. as our hosting service provider, bound by its own privacy and confidentiality obligations;

Law enforcement or regulators, if required by Tanzanian law or a valid court order.

Event photos will remain available for as long as they serve the legitimate purpose of documenting and celebrating the event.
